Welcome to the style section of Rachel Bilson Online. I get plenty of e-mails asking about Rachel's fashion sense and look. As a male, I'm not an expert on anything having to deal with fashion so I've decided to do some research in order to help ya'll out. I've found a pretty good source that hopefully, will help you find the information you're looking for. Brittany Kent is the author of the book "O.C. Undercover." It's a great guide to the stars and the style behind The O.C.. Brittany is most definitely in-the-know on what fashion and accessories one would need to duplicate Rachel's amazing fashion sense.

:: Before you read on, I'd urge anyone who's a fan of The O.C. or Rachel to buy Brittany Kent's book "O.C. Undercover." All the information on this page is from the book and is research done by Brittany for fans of Rachel and the show. It's absolutely wonderful and actually features this website on page 168. WHO IS SUMMER ROBERTS ? / Summer Roberts is Marissa's best friend and the ultimate Newport Beach party girl. Exuding brash self-confidence and a sly sexuality, Summer always speaks her mind, and always gets what she wants and neve rhas any regrets.

Spoiled by her father since the divorce of her parents, Summer is an irresistible magnetic narcisssist. She's growing up fast in a town whose principal values are money and physical beauty -- and she's loving every minute of it.

Summer is also the longtime object of Seth Cohen's unwavering [ if unrequited ] affection. Though his pysical attraction to her is undeniable Seth sees beneath Summer's brillant surface charms to her sweetness and fee-spiritedness at her core. Unfortunately for Seth, Summer's only vaugely aware of his existence. Undaunted Seth faithfully pursues her, convinced that his honest affection for Summer will one day catch her off gaurd and win her affection,if only for a moment.

"Okay, Coop, this is so not the way to handle this. I mean, you're going to become depressed. And then you're going to need medication. And then you're going to stop feeling, like, anything. According to my stepmom.."

• "He comes from a place where they have, like, knife-fights and drag-racing and, like, sex on the hood of a car."

• "Is this too slutty to wear to an old guy's birthday party? I don't want the dude to have a coronary."

• About her co-star Adam Brody:
"I tend to call him Seth in real life, actually! And he does the same thing to me . . . calling me Summer instead of Rachel after we've shot a scene together. He's not dorky as Seth in real life.

• About her character Summer Roberts:
"When she sets out to get something she wants, she gets it!"

• On playing Summer:
"It's great playing someone who is not like me at all. I'm really a nice girl, so it's fun to be a bitch, then come home and be myself again. When I meet people now, they're surprised that I'm a good person."

• On what book is laying on her bedside table:
"Probably, Green eggs and ham by Dr. Seuss...No it's not"

• On what she looks for in a guy:
"I like a guy who can make fun of me and make fun of himself. He's got to have a sense of humor. A guy can be the most beautiful thing in the world but if he opens his mouth and he's not interesting it won't work."

• On how she compares to Summer:
"Alot of people are surprised by how nice I am. Summer and I are both driven, but I'm not snobby. I'm a pretty good conversationalist and I like meeting new people."

• On her best friend, Lea:
“I live with my best friend, Lea – we went to high school together and we’re like sisters. Lea is the Chris Kattan to my Will Ferrel. The Owen to my Luke [Wilson], the Wayne to my Garth."

• About her first scene on "The OC":
"My first scene on the show, I showed up on set and they're like 'here's your little bikini, here's your little miniskirt. Now go out on the freezing beach and be drunk and basically molest Ben's character, Ryan.' Ryan, ohmigod! I was like, 'alright, cool!'"

• On her favorite album:
"My favorite albumn ever is Jeff Buckley's GRACE. I feel a weird unexplainable connection to him."

• On playing Summer:
"I love the fact that we play people who are not like us at all and we can just go crazy at work and then be very normal after filming."

• About learning lines:
"I have to do that and I don't find it hard. If I don't, I'll lose my job! In fact, I should be learning lines tonight, but I won't - I'm off to see a band called Modest Mouse and then have a few drinks. I'm not working tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to kicking back..."

• On her current working environment:
"I feel very lucky to work in the environment that I work in. I'm surrounded by people that I love and care about and who make me laugh every day. I get to work with my friends and you really can't ask for more than that."

• Some words of wisdom:
"I really do believe that if someone tries hard enough, they can get what they want. If you put all your effort towards something, you're going to be rewarded. The trick is to not give up. If you don't, anything can happen."

• On what clothes she likes to masquerade around in:
"Men's underwear and wifebeaters."

• Some words of wisdom #2:
"I feel like you have to be who you are and be true to yourself first, always. You can't worry about how your're going to be perceived by other people. I have a quote that my mom taught me: 'It's none of my business what other people think of me.'"

Rachel Biography

THE BEGINNING / Born in Los Angeles, California in 1981, Rachelle Sarah Bilson was always treated like a princess. Her older brothers and parents spoiled her from birth and she grew up quite comfortably as a result. Throughout her childhood years, she learned how to wrap her older siblings and friends around her little finger, becoming that cute, sly girl that everyone can't help but love. In doing so, she proved she had a natural flair for dramatics even before hitting the stage or standing in front of a camera.

RACHEL AND ALL "THE WRONG GUYS" / Her family encouraged her to put her attitude to use by becoming an actress and so, when she was 7 years old, Mr. and Mrs. Bilson helped their daughter land her first role in the film, The Wrong Guys, with comedian Louie Anderson. Rachel continued to audition for roles during her early years at Notre Dame High School. Through the recommendation of a close friend, she received a part in the seven-episode miniseries, Human Target. The role was small, but it helped Bilson realize that acting was something she wanted to do full-time. Following graduation, she pursued this new passion and hired an agent, who helped get her foot in the door.

RACHEL'S TELEVISION CAREER BEGINS / Rachel Bilson's first high-profile gig was on stage, in a production of Bye Bye Birdie. She figured prominently in the play and used the experience as a launching pad for two more theatrical productions: The Crucible and Once Upon a Mattress. She had landed a solid role on a fantasy series called It's True in 1998, but the show never took off because CBS couldn't find the financing to air it. Despite this letdown, Bilson continued to plug away and starred in a television commercial for Subway before finally coming into her own.

RACHEL HITS THE BEACHES OF "THE OC" / Thanks to constant auditioning and a well-connected agent, Bilson reached new heights in 2003. She appeared in an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and 8 Simple Rules... for Dating My Teenage Daughter before landing the lead role in a short film called Unbroken. Thanks to this exposure, Bilson was invited to attend an audition for FOX's potential new hit, The O.C. The show was aiming to target the same audience as previously successful shows like Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place. This was perfectly in line with Bilson's capabilities, whose youthful, vibrant personality and sexy look impressed the producers of The O.C.. They cast her as Summer Roberts, best friend of Marissa Cooper (played by Mischa Barton) and spoiled beauty who personifies the "Valley Girl" stereotype.

..AND THE APPEARANCES KEEP ROLLING IN / Since the show's smashing debut in the summer of 2003, Bilson has become a much-talked about new star and has been featured in such magazines as Zink, Stuff, CosmoGirl, and YM. Thanks to the popularity of The O.C., Bilson should be around for many more years and, even if the show fizzles, we think her talent and beauty can get her far on both the big and small screens.
